Background:
Regarded for expertise in mine clearance, Global Clearance Solutions AG, under the leadership of Wissam Allamy, set in motion an audacious plan in 2018 to set up a branch in Iraq. The endeavor aimed to effectively address the widespread issue of landmines and other explosive hazards scattered across the region.

Achievements:
Allamy skillfully spearheaded the convoluted process of securing official operation accreditation and registration for the company in Iraq. Notably, this encompassed maneuvering through an array of bureaucratic procedures related to the Iraqi embassy in Switzerland as well as the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Environment, DMA, the Social Security Department, and the General Tax Authority in Baghdad.

Efforts Behind the Curtain:
This mission necessitated the meticulous submission of the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to the Directorate of Mine Action within the Ministry of Environment. This onerous task was conquerable owing to Allamy's unfaltering resolution and robust supervision that steered the team to successfully showcase the company’s concrete operation demonstration in Basra.

The Pivotal Role of Wissam Allamy: 
As the Iraq manager for Global Clearance Solutions AG, Allamy's pivotal involvement was instrumental in surmounting the hurdles. He adeptly handled local registration procedures, led effective demonstrations, and navigated through copious legislative and organizational barriers. His profound comprehension of the indigenous challenges was the key in navigating these roadblocks and ensuring the company's triumph.

Challenges:
The expedition was laden with administrative complexities and the onerous task of securing operation accreditations. The imperative need to adhere to severe safety and operational guidelines along with securing modern equipment and highly skilled personnel added layers of challenges.

Results:
These impediments were surmounted successfully, resulting in the attainment of the operational permit from the Directorate of Mine Action in April 2019. This significant accomplishment was publicly recognized by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Dr. Kameeran, who personally presented the operational authorization document to Allamy. His diligent efforts over a year bore fruit, establishing Global Clearance Solutions AG as a leading entity in Iraq's mine clearance industry.
